What custom means here

A Suit Built Around You

“Custom suit” gets used loosely in Bangkok. It can mean anything from a new pattern drawn for you to a ready-made suit with the sleeves taken up.

At ITORVANI, custom means one thing: the suit is built around you. Your measurements, your cloth, your details — decided with you before anything is cut. Every suit, in every tier, starts from a new paper pattern drawn for you.

Want the full story of how that pattern is made? Our Bespoke Suits page walks through it step by step.

Design your suit

Everything you can choose, step by step

These are the choices we go through with you at the consultation, in this order. Not sure? Tell us where you'll wear the suit and we'll suggest a starting point.

  1. Client wearing a blue jacket pinned and chalked for a fitting, next to a tailor in front of the fabric wall

    Step 01

    Fit

Slim, regular or fuller through the chest and waist. We measure you and build to that — not to a size chart.

    • Slim
    • Regular
    • Fuller
  2. Black-and-white photo of dark suiting fabric swatches laid out in rows

    Step 02

    Cloth

Pick it in person from the cloth on our walls — mainly Italian and English. For Bangkok we usually suggest 220–280 GSM.

    • Wool
    • Merino
    • Linen
    • Wool, linen and silk

  3. Client in a navy three-piece suit posing with a tailor after a fitting

    Step 03

    Style

Single or double-breasted, with or without a matching waistcoat. A waistcoat on its own starts from 1,500 THB.

    • Single-breasted
    • Double-breasted
    • Two-piece
    • Three-piece
  4. Textured blue bespoke jacket with a grey felt under-collar on a mannequin

    Step 04

    Lapels

Cut and shaped to suit your build and how formal the suit needs to be.

    • Notch
    • Peak
    • Shawl
  5. Board of horn and resin suit buttons in different colours and sizes

    Step 05

    Buttons

The small detail people notice first. Choose the material and how many.

    • Horn
    • Mother-of-pearl
    • Metal
  6. Navy pinstripe jacket with a light blue paisley jacquard lining and red contrast piping

    Step 06

    Lining

Choose from our lining library at no extra cost. Quiet on the outside, a little fun on the inside, if you like.

    • Solid
    • Jacquard
    • Contrast piping
  7. Sleeve of an olive linen bespoke jacket with four teal buttons on the cuff

    Step 07

    Details

Pocket style and a monogram, if you want one — all agreed with you at the consultation.

    • Pocket style
    • Monogram
  8. Man in a tailored light pink dress shirt and high-waisted grey trousers standing by a pond

    Step 08

    Trousers

Waist and rise matched to how you actually wear them, with the hem set to your shoes.

How long it takes

From first visit to pickup in 3–4 days

Usually 3–4 days, with two to three fittings. Short on time? 48-hour express service is available for travelers on a tight schedule — two fitting.

Flying soon? Make your first visit at least four days before you leave — or two days for express. More detail in our guide to what happens at a fitting.

  1. Visit 1

    Consultation

We talk about the suit, you choose the cloth and every detail above, and Andy takes 17 measurements, standing and sitting.

  2. Visit 2

    First fitting

The jacket is basted — held together with loose stitches — so we can chalk changes straight onto it while you wear it.

  3. Visit 3

    Final fitting and pickup

You try on the finished suit. Anything still not right is fixed before you take it home. A third fitting is added at no extra charge if needed.

Know what you're buying

Custom, made-to-measure or off the rack?

The words get mixed up a lot. Here's the plain difference — the middle column is what “made-to-measure” usually means in Bangkok.
