Suit and Clothing Alterations in Bangkok

Adjustments to suits, shirts, and trousers you already own — including garments bought elsewhere.

Professional Alterations at ITORVANI

Alterations are not the same as bespoke tailoring, and we won't pretend otherwise. Alterations adjust a garment you already own; bespoke builds a new garment around you from scratch. Both are useful — they just solve different problems.

If a suit is close to fitting but not quite right — sleeves too long, waist a little loose, shoulders that need a small nip — alterations can usually fix it. If the suit doesn't fit in the shoulders or chest to begin with, no amount of alteration will fully solve that, and we'll tell you so honestly rather than take the work anyway.

Jacket Alterations

Sleeve length, waist suppression, and length adjustments. Shoulder alterations are more limited — see below.

Shoulder AlterationsLimited

Shoulders are the hardest part of a jacket to alter significantly, since the whole structure of the garment is built around them. Minor adjustments are possible; a jacket that's genuinely too big or small in the shoulders usually isn't a good alteration candidate.

Trouser Alterations

Waist, length, and taper adjustments — trousers are generally the most alteration-friendly garment.

Shirt Alterations

Sleeve length and body taper, within the limits of the existing fabric and seams.

When Should You Alter a Suit?

Alter

Alter when a suit is fundamentally the right size and just needs small corrections — a hem, a waist adjustment, shortened sleeves.

Build New

Consider a new custom or bespoke suit instead when the shoulders don't sit right, the chest is too tight or too loose to correct, or the garment simply wasn't built for your body to begin with. We'll give you an honest opinion either way when you bring the garment in — see our Bespoke Suits or Custom Suits pages if a new build turns out to be the better answer.

“Excellent service and quality, there are many competitors on the floor. I went to most of the shops, I recommend not wasting your time at other shops. Just go here, made to measure, excellent fabrics and turn around time. I will be back!”
